Baseball in Nigerian - Hall of Fame

In as much as Nigeria has not participated fully in international tournaments, there are some notable baseball players who have given the country a face-lift in their participation in the All Africa Games where they won a silver medal and other players who have features in various baseball championships.

Victor Achakpo is one of the successful baseball players in Nigeria; he played in the primary centre field for the Nigerian national team in 1999 All Africa Games.

Adeyinka Adewusi is one of Nigeria most successful baseball players. He was born in Ilorin, Kwara State Nigeria. He is among the team that won the silver medal at 2003 All Africa Games. He also played for a baseball club in Cape Town (2002 - 2010) as a professional player, and also for Sweden baseball league, notably for a club known as Gefle. He is also the founder of Angels Youth Baseball Factory, a baseball club in Nigeria.

Joseph Olayemi played for Nigeria Baseball National team and was also one of the players that won the silver medal for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games. He is the ball catcher for the team and also hits second in an individual score.

Michael Oguwuche is a Nigerian baseball player and silver medalist who also featured with Nigeria National Baseball Team in All African Games competition where they won silver.

Augustine Gabriel is one of the successful baseball players who started the first game for the Nigeria national team in 1999 All Africa Games. He played for Nigeria Baseball national team and was also one of the players that won the silver medal for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games

Adedeji Adekunli is a Nigerian baseball player who was the cleanup hitter and starting right fielder for the Nigerian national team in the 1999 All Africa Games. The baseball player stole 5 bases in tries.

Joseph Olayemi is one of the Nigerian most successful baseball players and he had featured in the Nigeria National team as the catcher and has won the Silver Medal in the 1999 All Africa Games.

Wande Olabisi is one of the most successful baseball players. He was born on 18 March 1988, in Lagos, Nigeria.

He became the first Nigerian born player to be selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft; he attended Stanford University where he played college baseball.

Godwin Agobie is one of the most successful baseball player and silver medalist who had featured in the Nigeria national team.

Olawale Kolawole played for Nigeria Baseball national team and was also one of the players that won a silver medal for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games.

Toba Elegbi is one of the successful baseball players who had featured in the Nigerian national team and he was of the player that won a silver medal for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games. He was the leadoff and shortstop for the Nigerian national team.

Michael Okoli is a professional baseball player who played for Nigeria baseball national team and was one of the players that won silver for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games. He was the starting second baseman for the team.

Emmanuel Motoni is a Nigeria baseball player who played for Nigeria Baseball national team and was also one of the players that won a silver medal for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games.

Ceaser Ofoedu played for Nigeria Baseball national team and was one of the players that won the silver medal in 1999 All Africa Games; he was the player that got the start in Nigeria’s toughest game against their strong host South Africa.

Sunday Twaki is a Nigerian baseball player; He played for Nigeria Baseball national team and was also one of the players that won a silver medal for Nigeria in 1999 All Africa Games.

Emmanuel Oladinni is a Nigerian baseball player and silver medalist who had featured for Nigeria national team in the 1999 All Africa Games. He also played in Italy’s minors.
